Seeking Clarity, the Best We Can

ree

As I watch the window washers wash, song lyrics float through my mind.

Johnny Nash, “I can see clearly now…” And the Indigo Girls’ “And I went in seeking clarity…” from Closer to Fine, one of my faves.

Clarity. If ever the windows in my Brooklyn apartment have been washed, it was toward the beginning of my 23-year tenure here. Some stains cannot be removed. Water has seeped inside some places between the panes. It is, still, an imperfect view, but better, clearer by a mile. And maybe that’s all we can hope for.

With evolution, ideally, we can see behind us at what hasn’t worked, and create a smoother more peaceful path forward. But we have to look to see. We have to stop, and think, and give up on age-old stories and beliefs that haven’t served us well, at least not ALL of us.

I return, always, to music to seek clarity. Rhythms do not lie. There is a consistency to the  underlying beat that is always there, that pulls us all closer together if we listen hard enough to hear it.

Wishing you peace and clarity today. Let the heat soak into your bones, a healing sauna free of charge!!

I have a community sound bath with Baltic Street Wellness scheduled for July 15th, at the Isaac Brown Healing Arts & Community Center in Industry City, free and open to the public, and an outdoor sound bath with YogaSole slated for July 16th in the lovely Sunset Park. I will be out West taking in the beauty of national parks, soaking in the mountains and the lakes the first couple weeks of July but available for private sessions and groups after that! Book me for your pool party or lakeside...dying to do a sound bath as folks float, so beautiful!!

In peace and harmony...

Steph
